Man Utd Manager Michael Carrick Eyes £6m Transformation for Cheshire Farm Featuring Personal Dressing Room and Plunge Pool

MICHAEL CARRICK would be well within his rights to close the door of his £6million Cheshire farmhouse and distance himself from football.

Yet, proposals submitted by the Manchester United manager to the local council indicate that the “beautiful game” remains a priority for him, even in his personal space.

Carrick, aged 45, aims to close off an open archway to transform it into a boot room that will feature hooks for clothing, a long bench, and storage compartments for shoes.

The envisioned outcome will closely resemble a football team’s dressing room.

Like many Premier League players today, who earn upwards of £300,000 a week, they expect only the finest and most modern amenities.

Carrick is also requesting permission from Cheshire East Council to construct a garden room at the back of his property, which will include a cold plunge bath, yoga area, and a “hot box”.

The former England international plans to build a 22-foot by 16-foot wooden outbuilding, which will also house a sauna and a log burner.

This would not be out of place at United’s newly enhanced training facilities, which underwent a £50m renovation last year.

Facilities such as an ice bath and sauna are standard features in the training complex.

Players now also enjoy new amenities like altitude chambers, a sports science center that monitors training data in real-time, a barbershop, and even smart urinals that assess hydration levels.

The Red Devils icon needs approval from the local council, as his historic home, which he shares with his wife Lisa and their two children, is Grade II-listed and located on green belt land.

Carrick’s idyllic retreat includes a five-bedroom farmhouse and two converted barns, one featuring four bedrooms, four reception rooms, a dressing room, a music room, a study, and an office.

The expansive property also has a luxury stable block accommodating seven horses, with facilities including a wash area, tack room, tea and office room, laundry area, and an outdoor riding ring, complete with a “muck truck.”

He acquired the two adjoining barns for £1.5million and £1.4million, which estate agents have noted as being “tastefully refurbished and remodeled in a quiet and secluded setting.”
