RENOWNED former midfielder and Como manager Cesc Fabregas vehemently rejected a query regarding Manchester United just days before Wednesday’s Champions League fixture.
The ex-Barcelona, Arsenal, and Chelsea star was not in the mood to discuss United’s coaching circumstances.
The Spaniard was questioned about the likelihood of taking the reins at Manchester United amid doubts surrounding current manager Michael Carrick.
Fabregas replied: “I refuse to address that question as it lacks courtesy.”
“I believe it does not convey adequate respect to a remarkable footballer and manager like Michael Carrick, who leads a fantastic Manchester United squad.”
The Como manager’s class was evident as he acknowledged and respected a former player on the field in Carrick.
However, genuine pressure is mounting on the United boss, who is in a winless streak that has now reached six matches.
Everyone connected with the Red Devils will be looking for a favorable result in Wednesday’s early kick-off, but Como should not be underestimated.
Fabregas’ team started their Champions League journey impressively, thrashing Leipzig 4-1 on the opening matchday and narrowly falling to Feyenoord in their last outing.
Carrick’s United team convincingly defeated Azerbaijani newcomers Sabah in their opener but suffered a 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid last time in a chaotic game that saw Leny Yoro dismissed.

Following this, the mounting pressure remains, but Carrick has stated ahead of the fixture with Como that he continues to have the support of the Manchester United board.
Earlier this week, he also disclosed that United would be without NINE senior players for their trip to Italy, as fans prepare for a potentially rainy experience in the Lombardy region.
