THE 2026/27 ABC Motsepe League season gets under way in the Northern Cape this weekend, with 12 fixtures scheduled across Streams A and B as teams begin their campaigns in the provincial football competition.

The opening round, confirmed by the Northern Cape Football Association (NCFA), will see clubs from across the province take to the field, with matches scheduled at venues including Galeshewe Stadium, De Beers Stadium, Okiep Stadium and Newton Grounds.

With six fixtures in each stream, the opening weekend offers teams an early opportunity to make their mark as the new season gets under way.

The new campaign follows a competitive 2025/26 season in Stream A, where NC Professionals finished top of the table with 57 points from 22 matches. Kakamas Juventus kept the pressure on, finishing just one point behind on 56, while Amalawus and Tsantsabane Stars shared third place on 34 points.

NC Pros went on to claim the provincial title, beating Stream B winners Jacksa Spears 4–3 on penalties after their final ended 1–1. That victory secured their place in the national play-offs, where their promotion campaign reached the semi-finals before they lost 4–1 to eventual champions Hope FC.

The new season now offers all 24 teams across the two streams another opportunity to challenge for provincial honours.

Matjieskloof City FC will host Tsantsabane Stars at Matjieskloof Grounds, while the Olympics face Amalawus FC at Okiep Stadium. Both matches are scheduled for 3pm.

Rasta Far Eagles FC will meet Upington Tornado at Newton Grounds, with kick-off also set for 3pm. Kakamas Juventus will welcome NC Professionals FC at Aggeneys Grounds at the same time.

The sixth fixture in Stream A sees Kakamas United FC face Osk Eagles FC at Langverwaght, with an earlier kick-off scheduled for 1pm.

SPU FC will take on Skema Unite FC at the SPU Sports Grounds, while Bovua FC faces Pampierstad Express FC at Vaalrivier School. Both matches are scheduled for 3pm.

G Stasie FC will meet PSD FC at Num Sun Lime Acres Grounds, with United Rovers facing Ocean Swallows at Merino Park. Both matches are also scheduled for 3pm.

The final Stream B fixture sees Gaza United FC take on Jacksa Spears FC at De Beers Stadium, with kick-off set for 3pm.

The Northern Cape Football Association confirmed that the fixtures were released by league administrator PW Mondela.

The association also noted that match arrangements remain subject to official amendments communicated by the provincial office.

Supporters are encouraged to take note of their teams’ respective venues and kick-off times as the ABC Motsepe League returns to action in the Northern Cape and turn out to support their teams.
