Manchester United supporter, Frank Ilett, famously known as ‘the United Strand’, has shared an update after hitting the milestone of 100 games since embarking on his unique challenge.
This challenge, which appears increasingly daunting, involves Frank not being able to cut his hair until United secures FIVE consecutive wins, and he is currently on day 743.
Since the inception of this challenge, United has switched through FIVE managers, with Frank’s hopes initially pinned on Erik Ten Hag’s squad.
Despite Ten Hag’s inability to secure five consecutive wins, interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy was also unable to achieve this milestone due to lack of opportunity.
Next, Ilett’s luck depended on Ruben Amorim, the new permanent manager. However, the Portuguese coach also fell short of achieving five consecutive wins.
Amorim managed United briefly before being dismissed, moving on to AC Milan, while ‘The United Strand’ remains without a haircut.

The next manager was interim Darren Fletcher, but he managed only two matches without registering a single win.
Lastly, Michael Carrick appeared to be the one who could potentially secure Frank that much-needed haircut.
Under Carrick, the team came the closest to achieving five wins in a row, with victories over Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham, and Spurs.
Ultimately, it was relegated West Ham that blocked United’s path to five consecutive victories.
