South African rugby star Cheslin Kolbe marked his birthday with a family getaway, sharing a photo of himself with his wife and children at a game reserve on Instagram.

The post, published on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, prompted fans to send birthday wishes and comment on the family moment.

Kolbe captioned the photo: “Best way to spend my birthday wireless” The post showed the rugby player enjoying time away from the pitch with his family, with the game reserve setting adding to the relaxed birthday scene.

Fans responded with warm messages, congratulating him and wishing him well for the year ahead.

Kolbe is one of South Africa’s most recognised rugby players, celebrated for his pace, footwork and ability to evade defenders.

He plays primarily as a winger or fullback and represents the Springboks, South Africa’s national team. He has also played for the DHL Stormers, the domestic side named in the post’s description of his career.

At 1.71 metres tall, Kolbe has often stood out in a sport where size and physicality are highly valued.

Early doubts about whether he was too small for elite rugby did not define his career. Instead, his speed, balance and agility helped him establish himself as a formidable opponent and a prominent figure in the game.

Over the years, Kolbe has become known internationally for his explosive running and elusive style.

His performances have earned him a reputation as one of rugby’s most exciting players, while his success has also made him one of the sport’s highest-paid stars.

Away from rugby, Kolbe occasionally shares moments from his family life with his followers.

The birthday post offered fans a glimpse of how he chose to celebrate: outdoors, with his wife and children, and away from the demands of professional sport. His concise caption summed up the occasion, describing it as the “Best way” to spend his birthday.

Fans’ reactions reflected the affection many have for Kolbe, who has built a following through both his rugby achievements and his energetic style of play.

Their birthday greetings accompanied the family photo, turning the post into a shared celebration with supporters.

Kolbe’s career continues to place him among the most recognizable names in South African rugby. But on his birthday, the focus was not on a match or a highlight reel.

It was on a family moment at a game reserve, shared with followers through a brief, affectionate caption.
