After retiring from professional football, former Kaizer Chiefs captain Jimmy Tau is apparently getting ready to become a father, which will be an exciting new chapter in his life.
Born in Kimberley, the 46-year-old former right-back has made a smooth transition from the football pitch to television commentary. He is currently employed by SuperSport TV as a football analyst, where he continues to impart his expertise and game knowledge to fans.
Tau and his wife, Thabile Ngwato, are expecting their first child together, according to a report released by Briefly on Monday.
Ngwato, a well-known businesswoman from South Africa, is the CEO and co-founder of the Ngwato Nkosi Group and Newzroom Afrika. She usually keeps her private life out of the public eye despite having a well-known career.
According to the story, the 36-year-old Mpumalanga-born businesswoman is thrilled about the possibility of having a child.
According to reports, Tau and Ngwato are ten years apart in age. In May 2025, the pair began a new chapter in their relationship by being married in a small, traditional ceremony.
The former Bafana Bafana international was originally connected to younger players Tsholofelo Mhlongo and Sizakele Manonga before he settled down with Ngwato.
Even though Tau had a great football career, the news of his pregnancy has drawn attention to his personal life and the prospect of having a family with his spouse.
