Real Madrid secured a crucial 2-1 victory over arch-rivals FC Barcelona in the first El Clásico of the season, bringing the Catalan side's winning run in LaLiga to an end on Sunday evening.

The highly anticipated encounter at Camp Nou saw Real Madrid emerge victorious, with Kylian Mbappé playing a decisive role as Los Blancos claimed bragging rights in one of world football's biggest rivalries.

Barcelona entered the match hoping to extend their impressive winning streak in the Spanish top flight, but Real Madrid proved too strong, delivering a performance that earned them all three points.

The victory represents an important result for Real Madrid in the race for LaLiga honours, while Barcelona will be disappointed to have suffered a defeat against their fiercest rivals on home soil.

For Mbappé and his teammates, the result provides a significant boost as they look to maintain their momentum throughout the campaign.

Meanwhile, Barcelona will be eager to bounce back from the setback and return to winning ways as the battle for supremacy in Spanish football continues.
