Rulani Mokwena has continued to make his mark at Egyptian club Pyramids FC, matching an impressive unbeaten record previously achieved by former coaches Hossam Hassan and Ramón Díaz while producing an even stronger record during the same run.

The South African tactician has gone 11 matches without defeat since taking charge, highlighting the progress made under his leadership. His achievement places him alongside two coaches who previously enjoyed extended unbeaten spells at the club, although the statistics suggest that Mokwena has delivered better results across the corresponding period.

Mokwena’s latest milestone represents an encouraging development in his coaching career as he continues to establish himself in Egyptian football. Known for his tactical ideas and emphasis on structured attacking play, the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Wydad Athletic Club coach has brought considerable experience to his new assignment.

Going unbeaten across 11 matches is a notable achievement in a competitive environment where teams regularly face difficult domestic and continental fixtures. Maintaining such consistency requires effective preparation, tactical flexibility and the ability to manage players through demanding periods.

For Mokwena, the record also provides an opportunity to strengthen his relationship with the squad and build confidence within the team. Positive results can help players become more comfortable with a coach’s methods, particularly when adjustments to playing style and tactical responsibilities are required.

Pyramids have established themselves as an ambitious force in Egyptian football, competing against traditionally powerful clubs and seeking greater success in domestic and continental competitions. The club's ambitions demand consistent performances, making Mokwena’s unbeaten run an encouraging sign.

However, an unbeaten streak is only one measure of progress. The coach will also be judged by the trophies he wins, the team's performances in important matches and its ability to maintain consistency throughout the season.

Matching the records of Hassan and Díaz provides a useful historical comparison, but Mokwena will be keen to extend the run and establish a record of his own.

As the campaign continues, attention will turn to whether he can maintain Pyramids’ momentum and translate the promising start into meaningful silverware.
