TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has reminded Kaizer Chiefs of their record against his club in cup competitions ahead of Tuesday’s Carling Knockout first-round encounter.

Sukazi has made it clear that TS Galaxy will not be intimidated by the reputation of the Soweto giants as the two sides prepare to battle for a place in the next round.

The TS Galaxy boss pointed to Kaizer Chiefs’ history against his team in cup matches, highlighting that Amakhosi have never beaten them in that setting. His comments add another layer of anticipation to a fixture that promises to attract attention from South African football supporters.

Kaizer Chiefs will enter the contest hoping to progress in the Carling Knockout, but Sukazi’s reminder underlines the challenge awaiting them. TS Galaxy have built a reputation for competing strongly against established opponents, and the club will be eager to maintain that confidence when the teams meet.

Cup competitions often bring additional pressure because a single defeat can end a team's hopes of winning the trophy. Both sides will therefore understand the importance of producing a disciplined performance and taking their opportunities when they arise.

For Chiefs, the match represents a chance to overcome the historical record highlighted by Sukazi and move closer to lifting another domestic cup. For TS Galaxy, the objective will be to continue their positive record against Amakhosi in cup football and secure progression to the next stage.

Sukazi’s comments have added spice to the build-up, ensuring that Tuesday’s meeting will be about more than simply reaching the next round. The result will ultimately be decided on the pitch, where both teams must deliver when it matters most.
