Devin Titus Assists as Maghreb Fes Concede Late in 1-1 Draw Against ASEC Mimosas

South African attacker Devin Titus made a valuable contribution for Maghreb Fes after providing an assist in their 1-1 draw against ASEC Mimosas in the first leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round on Sunday night.

The former Stellenbosch FC forward set up Noureddine Oussama for the opening goal, putting the Moroccan side in a promising position to secure victory on home soil. However, Maghreb Fes were unable to protect their advantage, conceding a late equaliser that denied them all three points.

ASEC Mimosas showed determination throughout the encounter, refusing to give up despite falling behind. Their persistence paid off in the 93rd minute when Bamba Souhalio found the back of the net, rescuing a valuable draw for the Ivorian visitors.

For Titus, the assist was another opportunity to demonstrate his attacking qualities and growing influence at Maghreb Fes. The South African has brought creativity and attacking energy to the team since his move from Stellenbosch FC, and his contribution against ASEC Mimosas underlined his ability to make a difference in important continental matches.

Despite the disappointment of conceding so late, Maghreb Fes will take encouragement from their ability to create scoring opportunities and break through the opposition's defence. However, the late goal will also raise questions about their concentration and defensive organisation during the closing stages.

The result leaves the tie finely balanced ahead of the return leg in Ivory Coast. Maghreb Fes will need to deliver a disciplined performance away from home, while ASEC Mimosas will aim to build on their late equaliser and take advantage of playing in front of their supporters.

Both sides remain in contention for a place in the CAF Champions League group stage, making the second leg crucial to their continental ambitions. Titus and his teammates will now focus on preparing for the decisive encounter as they seek to advance to the next stage.
