Sundowns Set To Keep All Super Cup Revenue As CAF Confirms Final Arrangements

MThe CAF Super Cup final, which is set to take place on November 8 in South Africa, will pit Mamelodi Sundowns against USM Alger. In preparation for the match, Mamelodi Sundowns will carry out a number of hosting duties, including coordinating training facilities, security, ticketing, and broadcasting.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) received the initial rosters from both teams by October 16. As the final draws near, the requirements lay out what the South African football authorities and host club Sundowns are expected to do in terms of preparation.

One week prior to the match, Sundowns are required to relinquish the stadium and training grounds to CAF. In addition, the venue for the match must have two practice fields with identical surfaces, one of which must be set aside specifically for the Algerian team. In order to ensure that both teams have an ideal environment to prepare for the continental final, these provisions have been put in place.

Transportation and lodging are also taken care of in the contract. While the CAF will take care of lodging for its official delegations in Johannesburg or Pretoria, Sundowns is expected to arrange lodging for around 18 CAF officials, including referees and VAR personnel. The South African club is also obligated to supply a vehicle for the leader of the USM Alger delegation in addition to busses for a minimum of fifty members of the delegation.

The South African Football Association (SAFA) and Sundowns will collaborate on security planning. Both parties are required to submit their plans and personnel numbers to CAF for approval. Tickets for the match must be purchased no later than five days before the start of the match. Supporters of USM Alger will be allotted five percent of the seats in the eastern section of the stadium.

Sundowns will receive 100% of the proceeds from the match, according to one of the most prominent financial provisions. Each club is required to contribute five autographed jerseys for promotional reasons, and the official match balls will be supplied by CAF. Starting three days prior to the final, only CAF-authorized advertisements will be allowed.

Production coverage of the event is expected to be extensive as well, with 28 cameras set to be installed in the stadium. A Man of the Match award will be presented, and promotional activities will be coordinated by CAF's commercial department. Although CAF has not yet announced the official television rights holders, the final is anticipated to be broadcast worldwide.

The magnitude of the commercial and logistical demands associated with hosting a continental final is demonstrated by the preparations. Sundowns and USM Alger will now focus on the match on November 8, and CAF is expected to provide further details regarding the broadcast.
