Lamine Yamal Stuns Real Betis With Wonder Goal as Barcelona Cruise to 5-2 Victory

Lamine Yamal delivered another moment of individual brilliance as FC Barcelona maintained their perfect start to the 2026/27 LaLiga campaign with an emphatic 5-2 victory over Real Betis on Saturday evening.

The Spanish champions produced an entertaining attacking display at the Estadio La Cartuja in Seville, extending their winning run to nine consecutive league matches and strengthening their position at the top of the standings.

Yamal was the standout performer, opening the scoring with a sensational finish before playing a crucial role in Barcelona's impressive victory. The teenager once again demonstrated why he is regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in world football.

Yamal Produces a Moment of Magic

Barcelona needed just 10 minutes to take the lead, with Yamal producing a stunning goal that immediately captured attention.

The young winger collected the ball, used his impressive dribbling ability to create space against the Betis defence and unleashed a superb left-footed strike from the edge of the penalty area.

His effort curled into the top corner, leaving goalkeeper Álvaro Valles with no realistic chance of making a save.

However, Real Betis responded positively and restored parity in the 27th minute when Valentín Gómez rose highest to head home after Pablo Fornals delivered a dangerous cross into the penalty area.

Barcelona regained the advantage four minutes before half-time. Rodri capitalised on Fermín López's corner delivery, powering a header into the net to give the visitors a 2-1 lead at the break.

Barcelona Turn Up the Pressure

The second half began at an incredible pace, with both sides searching for goals.

Barcelona extended their advantage in the 51st minute when Yamal delivered an excellent pass across the penalty area for Gabriel Jesus, who finished clinically to make it 3-1.

Real Betis refused to surrender, however, as Ez Abde reduced the deficit just two minutes later with a composed finish following a quick attacking move.

The contest then took another dramatic turn when Facundo Bernal received a straight red card following an altercation involving Yamal, leaving the hosts with 10 players.

Barcelona took advantage of their numerical superiority, with Eric Garcia scoring in the 62nd minute after Pau Cubarsí helped keep the ball alive following a free-kick.

Substitute Dani Olmo completed the scoring in the 81st minute, curling a superb effort into the top corner to seal a convincing 5-2 victory.

Barcelona Strengthen Their Title Credentials

The result means Barcelona have collected 27 points from their opening nine league matches, maintaining a perfect record and reinforcing their status as serious title contenders.

Yamal's outstanding performance will dominate the headlines, but Barcelona's five different goalscorers also highlighted the depth of their attacking threat.

With El Clásico against Real Madrid approaching, Hansi Flick's men have delivered another significant statement of intent.

Barcelona will now look to maintain their remarkable momentum as the LaLiga title race begins to take shape.
