Chippa United's difficult run in the Betway Premiership continued after they suffered another disappointing defeat, while Polokwane City brought AmaZulu's unbeaten start to the season to an end.

Chippa endured a frustrating outing after going down 4-1 against Sekhukhune United, extending their losing streak to three consecutive matches. The result has increased concerns about the team's defensive problems, with reports indicating that they have conceded 16 goals in their last four games.

The latest loss puts additional pressure on coach Dan Malesela to find a solution to his team's struggles. Chippa have found it difficult to keep opponents from scoring, and their defensive shortcomings are becoming an increasingly worrying issue as the season progresses.

Conceding goals so frequently makes it challenging for the team to collect points, even when they manage to score themselves. The Eastern Cape side will need to improve its defensive organisation, rebuild confidence and find greater consistency if it hopes to recover from this disappointing spell.

Meanwhile, Polokwane City secured an important 2-1 victory over AmaZulu, handing Usuthu their first defeat of the campaign.

The victory was a significant result for Polokwane City, who showed their ability to compete against a side that had managed to avoid defeat in its opening matches.

For AmaZulu, the loss serves as a reminder that maintaining consistency in the Betway Premiership will be essential if they want to remain competitive throughout the season. Although their unbeaten run has ended, the team will have an opportunity to respond in its upcoming fixtures.

Elsewhere, Richards Bay and Golden Arrows played out a goalless draw after neither side managed to find the back of the net.

Both teams had to settle for a single point, with the match producing no goals despite their efforts to secure a winning result.

Attention now shifts to the upcoming encounter between Kaizer Chiefs and Marumo Gallants, as supporters await another important fixture that could influence the league standings.

The latest results have delivered contrasting fortunes for the teams involved. While Chippa United continue to struggle with defensive issues, AmaZulu have suffered their first setback, and Polokwane City have gained valuable momentum.

For Chippa, the immediate priority will be to stop their run of defeats and address the defensive weaknesses that have contributed to their recent struggles.

With the Betway Premiership season continuing to unfold, the coming matches will provide a clearer indication of whether the struggling teams can recover and regain their confidence.
