Musona Reveals How His Combination With Khama Billiat Started During Their School Days

Knowledge Musona has revealed that his strong on-field understanding with Khama Billiat dates back to their school days, explaining why the two Zimbabwean stars continue to combine effectively in attack.

The former Kaizer Chiefs teammates recently played key roles in Scottland FC’s 2-0 victory over Petro de Luanda in the CAF Champions League first leg at the National Sports Stadium in Harare on Sunday, 18 October 2026.

Both players scored in the encounter, giving the Zimbabwean champions an important advantage ahead of the return fixture in Angola.

Speaking on Scottland FC’s podcast, Musona explained that his partnership with Billiat was built long before their reunion at the club.

“It didn’t start now… I was playing with Khama right from school,” he revealed.

He further described the natural connection between them, saying: “We do not need to communicate. He knows where I want the ball, and I know where he wants the ball.”

The pair developed their footballing abilities in Zimbabwe and were associated with Aces Youth Soccer Academy before making their mark in South African football.

Musona became a recognised goalscorer during his spell at Kaizer Chiefs, while Billiat earned acclaim for his creativity and technical ability at Mamelodi Sundowns and Amakhosi.

Their recent performance highlighted the value of familiarity and experience. Billiat broke the deadlock in the 67th minute before Musona doubled the lead in the 80th.

Scottland will now aim to protect their advantage in the return leg as they pursue qualification for the Champions League group stages. Their long-standing partnership could prove valuable as they face another demanding continental test.
