Agent Drops Major Hint on AmaZulu Star Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya’s Future

Agent Provides Key Insight on AmaZulu Star Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya’s Future

AmaZulu FC striker Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya has become a hot topic in South African football due to his remarkable start to the 2026/27 season, with his outstanding goal-scoring abilities drawing attention from clubs and fans alike.

The Zimbabwean international has excelled for Usuthu, becoming one of the premier forwards in the Betway Premiership. His impressive displays have led to speculation about how long AmaZulu can retain this valuable player amidst rising interest in him.

Ngwenya’s agent, Gibson Mahachi, has responded to the speculation regarding the striker's future, indicating that there is no urgency to make a decision given the increasing interest from potential clubs.

Mahachi reports that several teams have expressed interest in the 23-year-old forward, which he views as a natural outcome of the player’s excellent form.

However, he emphasizes that the top priority is for Ngwenya to stay focused on improving his game and assist AmaZulu in achieving their goals for the season.

“Yes, many clubs are approaching him, which is expected when a player performs well,” Mahachi told FARPost.

“But we are not rushing his decision. We want him to stay grounded, work harder, and accomplish more. The focus right now is on scoring and supporting AmaZulu's success. We will assess his future when the moment is appropriate.”

These remarks indicate that while a potential transfer may be a topic for future discussions, neither Ngwenya nor his representatives are inclined to make any impulsive decisions while he is thriving in Durban.

Ngwenya's significance to AmaZulu has notably increased since the season began. By late October, he had achieved 10 goals in 10 matches across various competitions, firmly placing himself among the top attacking talents in the country.

His performances have also garnered attention beyond his club, as his consistent goal-scoring has made him an essential player in Arthur Zwane's team.

However, maintaining his current form is vital. Opponents are becoming more aware of the threat he poses, necessitating that the striker continues adapting his style to remain impactful.

For AmaZulu, keeping Ngwenya would significantly enhance their efforts as they aim to sustain their strong start to the season. Losing such a prolific scorer would be challenging, especially with the club looking to build on its recent advancements.

For now, Ngwenya's representative has made it clear: discussions about his future will occur at the right time, while his primary responsibility remains centered on scoring and contributing to Usuthu's success.

With growing interest reportedly on the horizon, the upcoming months may play a crucial role in shaping the next phase of the striker's career.
