Eric Chelle Shares His Surprising View on South Africa’s Players

South Africa could lose points due to the fact that midfielder Teboho Mokoena played in their most recent match against Lesotho while supposedly serving a suspension; this was commented on by Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle. If the incident is determined to be a violation of the rules, Bafana Bafana could face a loss of points.

Based on what Chelle said, Nigeria could move up in the group if South Africa were to receive a penalty. If South Africa loses by three points, we have a chance to catch up to them because our next match is against Rwanda. He went on to say that their next match against South Africa could be a game-changer.

He was cautious not to put his faith in that result. "We can't depend entirely on the blunders made by other people," concluded Chelle. "Our main priority is to be fully prepared for every match and to give it our all in order to qualify."

This whole mess started when Mokoena accumulated enough yellow cards to be suspended. The decision to include him in the match by South Africa has sparked debate and demands for an explanation from the South African Football Association (SAFA). From what we can tell, there has been no decision regarding a points deduction.

As the group stage progresses, Nigeria's upcoming matches are crucial. While Chelle's message is that the team's performance on the field is more important in the quest to qualify for the tournament, the team is still looking to capitalize on any mistakes made by their opponents.
