Former Orlando Pirates Coach Set to Earn R350,000 Monthly at New Club

GOLDEN ARROWS MAKE SHOCK MOVE FOR MANDLA NCIKAZI AFTER PITSO DLADLA'S DEPARTURE

Lamontville Golden Arrows have reportedly appointed former Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi as their new head coach following the departure of Pitso Dladla, as the Durban-based club looks to revive its season after a disappointing run of results.

Ncikazi is expected to return to familiar surroundings, having previously coached Golden Arrows during the 2020/21 Premier Soccer League season. During that campaign, he helped the team secure an impressive fourth-place finish, establishing himself as one of the coaches capable of competing against South Africa's established football giants.

According to reports, Ncikazi has agreed to a two-year contract and will earn a monthly salary of R350,000. However, Golden Arrows have yet to officially confirm the reported agreement or its financial details.

His reported appointment follows Orlando Pirates' confirmation that Ncikazi had left his position as assistant coach to Abdeslam Ouaddou to pursue a head coaching opportunity. His departure opened the door for a possible return to the club where he previously enjoyed considerable success.

Ncikazi is expected to replace Dladla, who took charge after Manqoba Mngqithi left Golden Arrows to join Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC.

Dladla initially made a promising impression, guiding the team through their first six matches without defeat. Golden Arrows also recorded notable victories against Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8, raising hopes of a successful campaign.

However, their form subsequently deteriorated, with the team reportedly enduring five consecutive matches without a victory. The disappointing results increased pressure on the technical team and prompted a change in direction.

Ncikazi's immediate task will be to restore confidence, improve consistency and get Golden Arrows back to winning ways. His previous experience with the club could prove valuable as he works to stabilise the team and improve its league position.

Supporters will now be hoping his reported return brings renewed ambition and better results. Ultimately, his success will depend on performances on the pitch and his ability to guide Golden Arrows through a challenging period.
