Itumeleng Khune spotted hanging out with Doctor Khumalo and his 22-year-old son

Itumeleng Khune Spotted Spending Time With Kaizer Chiefs Legend Doctor Khumalo and His Son

Former Kaizer Chiefs captain and legendary goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune continues to enjoy life away from professional football, recently sharing a special moment with fellow Amakhosi legend Doctor Khumalo and his son, Diego Khumalo.

Khune, affectionately known as Spiderkid, took to his official Instagram Stories on Wednesday evening, where he posted a video showing himself spending time with Doctor Khumalo and the young footballer. The meeting brought together two respected figures in Kaizer Chiefs' history while offering a glimpse into the next generation of the Khumalo family.

Khune remains one of the most celebrated goalkeepers to have represented the Soweto giants. Having spent the majority of his professional career at Naturena, the former Bafana Bafana international built a reputation for his outstanding reflexes, leadership and commitment to the club. His achievements have cemented his status as a favourite among many Kaizer Chiefs supporters.

Doctor Khumalo, meanwhile, is widely regarded as one of the finest players ever to wear the famous gold and black jersey. The former attacking midfielder played a significant role in the club's history and remains an influential figure in South African football. He has since continued his involvement in the game, including his reported appointment as vice-chairperson of the SAFA Technical Committee.

His son, Diego Khumalo, is working towards establishing his own football career. The youngster is reportedly developing his skills under the guidance of Farouk Khan at the Stars of Africa Academy, where he hopes to build a promising future in the sport.

The gathering also comes as football supporters turn their attention to Kaizer Chiefs' upcoming fixtures. Amakhosi recently secured a place in the Carling Knockout Cup quarterfinals after defeating TS Galaxy, strengthening hopes of a successful campaign.

Attention is now shifting towards Saturday's highly anticipated Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates, with both teams eager to claim bragging rights.

Do you believe Kaizer Chiefs can win the 2026/27 Carling Knockout Cup, and will they overcome Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby?
