Former Orlando Pirates attacker Thembinkosi Lorch could reportedly become a free agent during the next transfer window as uncertainty continues to surround his future at Libyan club Al-Ittihad SC.

Lorch’s situation has attracted attention after reports suggested that the South African forward has fallen out of favour at the club and is no longer enjoying the same level of importance he previously held. While there has been no official confirmation that he will leave, the reports have raised questions about his next career move.

The 32-year-old built a strong reputation during his time at Orlando Pirates, where his creativity, attacking quality and ability to score important goals made him a popular figure among supporters. His performances for the Buccaneers established him as one of the standout attacking players in South African football.

His move to Al-Ittihad provided Lorch with an opportunity to continue his career outside South Africa and experience football in a different environment. However, his reported decline in prominence could now lead to another change, with his contractual situation potentially allowing him to explore opportunities elsewhere.

According to reports, Lorch could be available as a free agent in the next transfer window. Should that happen, he would have greater freedom to negotiate with interested clubs, subject to the terms of his existing agreement with Al-Ittihad.

His availability could attract interest from teams searching for an experienced attacking player. A return to the Premier Soccer League would also be an intriguing possibility, given his familiarity with the competition.

Lorch has previously been linked with Kaizer Chiefs, who reportedly attempted to sign him during a previous transfer window. However, that move did not materialise, and there is currently no confirmation that Amakhosi are considering another approach.

For now, Lorch’s future remains uncertain, with his potential departure from Al-Ittihad still unconfirmed. His next move could become clearer once the transfer window opens and the club clarifies his contractual situation.
