Kaizer Chiefs are said to be putting together a last-ditch attempt to secure the services of AmaZulu FC striker Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya before the January 2027 transfer window. Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya’s transfer wish has reportedly been granted. There is speculation that the Glamor Boys may be seeking to add some firepower to their attack for the rest of the season.Ngwenya was mentioned as a possible target after the Chiefs’ management had apparently been encouraged by his alleged desire to move to Naturena.

However, there have been suggestions that AmaZulu are not willing to negotiate a transfer for the forward and Chiefs along with any other clubs might have trouble trying to get him to sign. Reports suggest that several clubs like Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates might be unable to sign the striker. The stated unwillingness of AmaZulu to consider offers from these South African football giants could make negotiations difficult with the January transfer window fast approaching.Ngwenya is rumored to want to join Chiefs and the Soweto club would be in a better position if AmaZulu agreed to talk about his future.

The striker might be desperate to leave his current club but that might not be enough to convince them to move him on. Should the Chiefs not sign the Zimbabwean forward, they might miss an opportunity to improve their scoring chances and become more competitive. The ball is now in the club’s court as to whether they want to make a formal approach to see if AmaZulu will change their stated position.Factors such as Ngwenya's contract status, the value of AmaZulu, and the desire of the two clubs to negotiate may have a bearing on the outcome.

Neither Kaizer Chiefs nor AmaZulu have officially commented on the transfer speculation with Ngwenya denying that he prefers Naturena. Chiefs fans will be watching the team’s performance closely until January of 2027. However, until the talks are concluded, speculations about Ngwenya’s possible exit can only continue. The striker may want to remain at AmaZulu past the transfer window.
