South African football star Relebohile Mofokeng could be heading for another big move in Europe, with several clubs reportedly keeping a close eye on his performances.
The former Orlando Pirates attacker has made an impressive start at Belgian club Royale Union Saint-Gilloise since completing his move from the Buccaneers in July 2026.
French side Lille and German giants Bayer Leverkusen are among the clubs linked with the 22-year-old. SC Freiburg has also been mentioned as a possible destination as interest in the Bafana Bafana star continues to grow.
Mofokeng's performances have attracted attention because of his ability to play in different attacking positions. He can operate on either wing or as an attacking midfielder, making him a useful option for clubs looking to improve their attack.
The South African has scored five goals and provided four assists in 15 appearances for Union SG this season. These numbers show how quickly he has adjusted to European football.
Reports suggest that Leverkusen have already made enquiries about his availability, while Lille are also considering him as a possible attacking signing ahead of the January transfer window.
A possible move could come with a big price tag. Reports have suggested that Union SG could demand around €15 million (approximately R276 million) for the talented attacker.
However, Mofokeng is still under contract with the Belgian club until 2030. This means Union SG are in a strong position when it comes to deciding his future.
For now, there is no confirmed agreement with any of the interested clubs, and the reported interest does not mean that a transfer is guaranteed.
Mofokeng will need to keep producing strong performances if he wants to attract even more attention from Europe's leading teams.
His rise from Orlando Pirates to becoming a player linked with major European clubs is another proud moment for South African football.
