Engen Champ of Champs Unveils New Trophy for 2026 Edition

The Engen Champ of Champs has unveiled a brand-new trophy ahead of the 2026 tournament, adding a fresh symbol to an event that continues to provide a platform for some of South Africa’s most promising young footballers.

The new trophy features a contemporary design with a football seamlessly integrated at its centre. The concept represents the connection between youth development, emerging talent and the sport itself, while also reflecting the ambition of players competing at the tournament.

More than simply a prize for the eventual winners, the trophy is expected to represent the progress and development associated with the Engen Champ of Champs. The competition has become an important stage for young footballers looking to gain valuable experience and attract attention as they continue their football journeys.

The unveiling also underlines Engen’s continued involvement in youth football and its efforts to create opportunities for young players to develop their abilities in a competitive environment.

This year’s tournament carries the theme “Where Diski Legends Start”, highlighting the role the competition can play in the early stages of a player's journey. For many participants, the event provides an opportunity to test themselves against some of the best emerging talent from across the country.

The new trophy was officially unveiled on Tuesday, 29 September, during the 2026 Engen Champ of Champs draw. The ceremony also set the stage for this year's competition, with 18 teams divided into their respective groups.

The participating teams are equally split across the Boys’ Under-18 and Girls’ Under-20 divisions, ensuring that both competitions receive a significant platform during the tournament.

The 2026 edition is scheduled to take place from 2 to 4 October at the High-Performance Centre in Pretoria. With the tournament bringing together talented young players, attention will now turn to the opening matches and the teams hoping to lift the newly unveiled trophy.

For the players involved, the tournament represents more than an opportunity to compete for silverware. It is also a chance to gain experience, showcase their abilities and take another step towards potentially progressing to higher levels of South African football.

With the new trophy now unveiled, the stage is set for another edition of the Engen Champ of Champs as the country's emerging football talent looks to make its mark.
