South Africa U15 Team Thrash Anguilla 13-1 as Two Players Score Hat-Tricks at FIFA World Cup

South Africa’s national under-15 team produced a remarkable performance at the 2026 FIFA U15 World Cup and Festival, recording an emphatic 13-1 victory over Anguilla in their third group match in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Sunday.

The young South Africans bounced back in style, delivering an outstanding attacking display that saw them score 13 goals in one match. The victory was an impressive response from the team and gave the players an opportunity to showcase their talent on the international stage.

Several players contributed to the memorable result, but Tshiamo Mashishi and Camden Schaper stood out after scoring hat-tricks. Both youngsters found the back of the net three times, making them the leading scorers in South Africa’s dominant performance.

Mashishi demonstrated his attacking ability by scoring three goals, while Schaper also enjoyed an excellent outing in front of goal. Their performances helped South Africa maintain its pressure on Anguilla throughout the encounter.

Lesedi Hlalele and Katlego Mokhabuki also played important roles in the victory, with each player scoring twice. Their contributions added to South Africa’s impressive goal tally and underlined the attacking strength displayed by the team.

Neo Dhlamini, Bohlale Finger and Keanu Moses completed the list of South African goalscorers, with each player finding the net once.

Anguilla managed to score a consolation goal, but it was not enough to prevent a heavy defeat against a South African side that showed its determination to return to winning ways.

The 13-1 scoreline highlighted the young South Africans’ ability to create scoring opportunities and convert them into goals. For the players, the result will provide a significant confidence boost as they continue their campaign at the inaugural FIFA U15 Boys World Cup and Festival.

The competition gives young footballers an opportunity to represent their countries, gain international experience and develop their abilities against teams from different parts of the world.

For South Africa, the victory was about more than the impressive scoreline. It also offered the players a chance to respond positively after their previous group-stage setback and demonstrate their determination to compete.

The coaching staff will now hope the team can build on this performance while continuing to improve in other areas of the game. Although scoring 13 goals is an outstanding achievement, maintaining consistency will be important as the tournament progresses.

South Africa’s emphatic victory has given the youngsters plenty to celebrate, with Mashishi and Schaper earning special recognition for their hat-tricks.

The young players will now look to carry this momentum into their next challenge as they continue representing the country on the international stage.
