Stellenbosch FC head coach Gavin Hunt expressed satisfaction with his team's performance after securing a 2-0 victory over Durban City in the Carling Knockout on Wednesday night at Chatsworth Stadium.

The win was particularly significant for Hunt, who faced his former club in a competitive encounter. Stellenbosch delivered a strong performance to overcome Durban City and advance their campaign in the knockout competition.

Speaking to the media after the match, Hunt reflected on the result and his team's display, with the victory providing encouragement as Stellenbosch continue their pursuit of success in the tournament. Beating a former side can carry additional significance for a coach, but the primary focus remained on securing the result and ensuring his players delivered when it mattered.

The match also featured an emotional moment as Hunt paid tribute to striker Bradley Grobler. The tribute added a personal dimension to the post-match discussion, highlighting the respect and appreciation that can exist between people in South African football beyond the competition on the pitch.

Hunt's comments combined an assessment of Stellenbosch's victory with recognition of Grobler, making the occasion about more than just the result. For Stellenbosch, the 2-0 triumph represented an important step in their Carling Knockout campaign, while the tribute served as a reminder of the relationships and contributions that shape the game.
