Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly taken a significant step towards strengthening their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season, with six new players expected to bring fresh energy, competition and quality to the Naturena-based club.

The Soweto giants appear determined to build a more competitive team as they look to end their struggles and re-establish themselves among the leading clubs in South African football. The reported arrivals suggest that Chiefs are targeting several departments rather than concentrating on just one area of the squad.

Goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner is among the new faces, providing another option between the posts as the club continues to strengthen its goalkeeping department. His arrival could increase competition for the starting position and give the technical team additional selection options.

Defender Thabo Moloisane is another notable name on the list. His addition could provide valuable defensive depth and help Chiefs improve their stability at the back. Meanwhile, Adolf Mtasingwa is expected to strengthen the midfield, where greater consistency and control will be important for the team's ambitions.

Elias Mokwana is arguably one of the most exciting names among the reported additions. The winger possesses attacking qualities, pace and the ability to create problems for opposing defenders. His presence could give Chiefs more creativity and attacking options in the final third.

Young attacker Faiz Abrahams, who is listed as a loan signing, will also have an opportunity to demonstrate his potential and fight for a permanent place in the squad. Langelihle Phili completes the list of six players expected to contribute to the team's rebuilding efforts.

The reported additions have raised expectations among Chiefs supporters, who are eager to see their club compete consistently for trophies.

However, signing new players is only the beginning. The biggest challenge will be ensuring that they settle quickly, develop strong partnerships and deliver results.

Chiefs will hope these six additions can help transform their fortunes and make the 2026/27 campaign a successful one.
