PSL Officially Halts Major Chiefs Match After Unforeseen National Crisis

Kaizer Chiefs Confirm AmaZulu Fixture Change as PSL Postpones Matches

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that their Betway Premiership clash against AmaZulu, scheduled for Wednesday, 4 November 2026, has been postponed due to South Africa's upcoming local government elections.

The Soweto giants announced the development on Tuesday, explaining that the postponement affects all Premier Soccer League (PSL) matches scheduled for that day. The decision follows the declaration of election day as a public holiday, resulting in a broader adjustment to the domestic football calendar.

According to the club's statement, the PSL will communicate the new dates once the necessary arrangements have been finalised. Chiefs have assured their supporters that they will share the updated information as soon as it becomes available.

The postponement means Amakhosi supporters will have to wait longer to see their team take on AmaZulu in a fixture that could prove important to their league campaign. However, the match has not been cancelled, and both teams are expected to meet on a rescheduled date.

Chiefs are not the only club affected by the decision. Six other Betway Premiership fixtures scheduled for 4 November have also been postponed. These include Siwelele against Orlando Pirates, Chippa United versus Sekhukhune United, Golden Arrows against Marumo Gallants, Polokwane City versus Kruger United, Richards Bay against Stellenbosch FC, and TS Galaxy versus Durban City.

For the Chiefs technical team, the change provides additional time to assess the squad, work on tactical improvements and prepare for upcoming challenges. However, the rescheduling could also create fixture congestion as the season progresses.

Supporters will now await confirmation of the new date for the AmaZulu encounter. Chiefs have urged fans to rely on official communication rather than unconfirmed information circulating on social media.

With the PSL yet to announce revised dates, the focus remains on preparations for the matches ahead as Chiefs continue their pursuit of valuable league points.
