The first Soweto Derby of the 2026/27 season lights up FNB Stadium on Saturday, 31 October, with kick-off at 15:30 — and bragging rights plus crucial Betway Premiership points on the line. Tickets sold out within hours of going live on MyTicket, but there was an affordable option for supporters: a Level 1 general admission seat plus return Gautrain bus transport, all for just R165.
For those making their own way, standalone Level 1 and Level 5 tickets were priced at R140, with Level 2 seating at R200. Young fans were also catered for: children’s tickets started at R50, rising to R75 with Gautrain return transport and R110 including Rea Vaya travel.
On the pitch, Orlando Pirates start as clear favourites. Defending champions and unbeaten in eight matches — seven wins, one draw, 22 points — they have scored 19 goals and conceded only one. By contrast, Kaizer Chiefs are also unbeaten but sit fifth with 14 points from three wins and five draws. Their attack has delivered 13 goals, but eight have been conceded, and sections of the Amakhosi faithful have grown restless. A derby victory would be the perfect tonic — yet stopping the league’s most formidable side will be no small task.
