CAF BOMBSHELL: Opponents In Tears As Manqoba Mngqithi’s Men Secure Monstrous 8-1 Destruction

CAF BOMBSHELL! Mngqithi Leads Young Africans Into Champions League Group Stages After 8-1 Demolition

South African football coach Manqoba Mngqithi has achieved another major milestone in his coaching career after guiding Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC into the CAF Champions League group stages with a commanding 8-1 aggregate victory over Madagascar’s CFFA.

Young Africans, popularly known as Yanga, confirmed their qualification on Wednesday after defeating CFFA 4-1 in the second leg of their second preliminary-round encounter. The emphatic result completed a convincing two-legged performance that underlined the Tanzanian champions’ attacking strength and growing ambitions on the African continent.

The achievement is another significant moment for Mngqithi, the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows head coach, who continues to build his reputation beyond South African football.

Yanga Deliver Another Powerful Performance

After securing a comprehensive 4-0 victory in the first leg, Young Africans entered Wednesday’s return fixture with a comfortable advantage. However, Mngqithi’s men showed no intention of simply protecting their lead, producing another attacking display to finish the tie in style.

Ibrahim Kazimoto opened the scoring in the 27th minute, giving the hosts further control of the encounter and strengthening their position in the qualification battle.

Young Africans returned from the interval with renewed intensity, and Selemani Mwalimu struck twice in quick succession, scoring in the 49th and 53rd minutes.

CFFA managed to find the net in the 75th minute, but their goal did little to change the outcome of the tie. Teenager Juma Issa Abushuri then added another goal in the 82nd minute to complete the scoring and seal a 4-1 victory for the Tanzanian outfit.

The result confirmed an impressive 8-1 aggregate triumph, leaving no doubt about Young Africans’ superiority across the two matches.

A Major Achievement for Mngqithi

For Mngqithi, reaching the group stages represents an important step in his mission to establish Young Africans among Africa’s leading club sides.

The experienced tactician arrived in Tanzania with expectations of delivering results, and qualifying for the continent’s premier club competition provides an encouraging foundation for the campaign ahead.

His experience in South African football, particularly during his time at Sundowns, gives him valuable knowledge of the demands of competing at the highest level of African club football.

Tougher Challenges Await

Although qualification is a significant achievement, the real test will come when Young Africans face stronger opposition in the group stages.

Mngqithi will need to ensure his players maintain their attacking confidence while improving their consistency and defensive discipline against Africa’s established clubs.

For South African football supporters, his progress in Tanzania will remain an interesting storyline as another familiar face from the Premier Soccer League makes his mark abroad.

With qualification secured in convincing fashion, Young Africans can now turn their attention to the group-stage challenge and their ambition of competing for continental honours.
