Devin Titus Reaches Six Goal Contributions in Morocco

South African attacker Devin Titus played an important role as Maghreb Fes defeated ASEC Mimosas 2-1 to qualify for the CAF Champions League group stages on Sunday night.

The Moroccan side secured a 3-2 aggregate victory after the first leg ended in a 1-1 draw. The result confirmed Maghreb Fes' place in the next round of Africa's premier club competition, giving the team an opportunity to compete against some of the continent's strongest sides.

Titus continued his impressive start in Morocco, contributing to his team's progress with another assist. The former Stellenbosch FC attacker set up Noureddine Oussama for the opening goal against ASEC Mimosas as Maghreb Fes looked to take control of the encounter.

However, the hosts were unable to keep their opponents from finding the back of the net. ASEC Mimosas fought back and scored a late equaliser through Bamba Souhalio in the 93rd minute, leaving the home side with little time to respond.

Despite conceding so late in the match, Maghreb Fes managed to secure the victory and complete the job over the two legs. Their 2-1 win on the night proved enough to take them through with a one-goal advantage on aggregate.

Titus had also made a difference in the first leg, providing an assist as the Moroccan side drew 1-1 against the Ivorian outfit. His contribution in both matches has highlighted his growing influence since joining the club from Stellenbosch FC.

The South African attacker has now recorded six goal contributions in nine matches for Maghreb Fes. His performances will be encouraging for the club as they prepare for the challenges of the CAF Champions League group stages.

Meanwhile, fellow South African forward Tshegofatso Mabasa was included in the matchday squad for Sunday's encounter. However, the striker did not start the match and was introduced from the bench as the game progressed.

Maghreb Fes will now turn their attention to the group stages, where they will aim to compete strongly against the teams they are drawn against. Qualifying for this stage represents an important achievement for the Moroccan club as they look to make their mark on the continental competition.

In the domestic Botola Pro, Maghreb Fes currently sit sixth on the table with seven points after four matches. They are five points behind league leaders KACM, although Maghreb Fes have played one match fewer. The club will hope to maintain their positive momentum in Africa while improving their position in the domestic league.
