The upcoming encounter presents an important opportunity for Sundowns to respond positively and demonstrate their ability to overcome difficult moments. With expectations remaining high at Chloorkop, the players understand the importance of delivering a strong performance and securing a positive result.

Matthews has acknowledged the significance of the fixture, insisting that Sundowns must move forward, rediscover their winning mentality and build momentum through another victory. The attacker believes that overcoming their current frustrations will be crucial to restoring confidence within the squad.

"That's what we have to look forward to, I think the next one is a very important one. We've to overcome it and get back to winning ways and get over this feeling, win again and continue from there," Matthews said.

His comments reflect the determination within the Sundowns camp to respond to recent setbacks with a renewed sense of purpose. The Brazilians have established themselves as one of South Africa's most successful clubs, making their desire to return to winning form particularly important as they continue competing for silverware.

However, Marumo Gallants will present a challenge of their own. Sundowns will need to approach the encounter with discipline, concentration and attacking intensity to avoid an upset in a competition where a single disappointing result could end their ambitions.

For Matthews, the match offers an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution through his pace, movement and attacking creativity. His performance could prove important as Sundowns look to unlock the Gallants defence and create scoring opportunities.

Ultimately, Sundowns will be focused on translating their determination into a convincing performance. A victory would provide a timely confidence boost, helping the team regain momentum and strengthen their ambitions of progressing further in the Carling Knockout Cup.
