South African singer Zee Nxumalo has teamed up with Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in a special video feature that puts her love of football in the spotlight.
The rising Amapiano star appeared in a profile-style clip shared by the North London club. In the video, she spoke about her music journey, her interest in the beautiful game, and her visit to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. She also opened up about a childhood dream that never quite happened.
“When I was younger, I always wanted to be a footballer, but life had a different plan for me, and music became my life,” Nxumalo said.
The feature looked at the strong link between music and football. Both worlds thrive on passion, emotion and the way they bring people together. Nxumalo said being at the club made her see those similarities clearly. She also noted Tottenham’s long connection with South Africa through former players Steven Pienaar and Mbulelo Mabizela, who once wore the Spurs shirt.
For the singer, the visit was more than just a stadium tour. It gave her a chance to share a personal side of her story with a wider audience and connect with fans who love both music and football. Reports suggest the appearance formed part of a wider promotional trip to London, where she has been expanding her presence beyond South African stages.
Zee Nxumalo, whose real name is Zandile Nxumalo, was born in Eswatini and raised in Alexandra, Johannesburg. She broke through as one of Mzansi’s standout Amapiano voices with hits such as “Funk 55”, which became a multi-platinum success. Her sound mixes catchy melodies with the energy of the dance floor, and she continues to grow her following at home and abroad.
The collaboration shows how South African talent is finding new ways to reach global audiences. It also highlights the lasting bond between Tottenham and the country, built over years through players who left a mark at the club. For Nxumalo, it was a chance to mix two things she loves while reminding fans that music and football often speak the same language of loyalty and community.
