Jorge Jesus has revealed that he personally asked Cristiano Ronaldo to continue working with him, highlighting the Portuguese superstar's importance and the enormous influence he continues to have on football. The manager's comments have further demonstrated the respect Ronaldo commands, not only because of his achievements on the pitch but also because of his contribution to Portuguese football.

Jesus spoke highly of the 40-year-old Al-Nassr forward, describing him as an influential figure whose legacy goes far beyond scoring goals and winning trophies. According to the manager, Ronaldo remains a national icon and an inspiration to young footballers who continue to look up to his remarkable career.

"He will always be in the hearts of the Portuguese. He is a global reference, an emblem for our youth and a fundamental piece of our national team's history," Jesus said.

The comments underline Ronaldo's special place in Portugal's football history. Throughout his international career, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward has represented his country at major tournaments, broken numerous records and played a significant role in establishing Portugal as one of Europe's leading football nations.

His achievements include captaining Portugal to the 2016 European Championship title, a historic success that remains one of the country's greatest football moments.

Despite reaching the later stages of his career, Ronaldo continues to attract attention through his performances, professionalism and determination to maintain high standards. His experience and leadership remain valuable qualities, particularly for younger players seeking to establish themselves at international level.

Jesus' personal request for Ronaldo to continue working with him also reflects the importance he places on the forward's presence within a team. Beyond his goalscoring ability, Ronaldo brings experience, confidence and a winning mentality.

Although the circumstances surrounding Jesus' request remain unclear, his admiration for Ronaldo is evident. The manager's remarks reinforce the belief that the Portuguese captain's influence will remain significant long after his playing career comes to an end.
