Bayern Munich will aim to end Arsenal’s impressive unbeaten run in the UEFA Champions League when both sides clash at the Allianz Arena today.
The encounter is expected to be one of the standout fixtures of the league phase, with both teams among Europe’s leading sides. Arsenal defeated Bayern in London last season and finished the league phase with a perfect record of eight wins from eight matches before losing the final to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties.
The Gunners have maintained an impressive record in Europe, having not lost in normal time in the Champions League since the semi-finals of the 2024/25 campaign.
However, Bayern will be confident of ending that run, especially with the match taking place in Munich, where they have been particularly strong this season.
The German champions have won all four of their home matches this season, scoring 23 goals and conceding only twice. Their impressive record at the Allianz Arena also extends beyond the current campaign, with the club unbeaten in their last 12 matches at the venue, recording 10 wins and two draws.
Bayern were held to a draw away to Viking in their last Champions League outing but could consider themselves unfortunate not to have secured victory. Arsenal, meanwhile, edged Nottingham Forest at the weekend and have won 10 of their 11 matches this season.
However, their performances have not always matched the level they reached last term. The Premier League side also face a difficult historical challenge, having lost their last three away matches against Bayern.
