LIV-ING LIFE: Brentford vs Liverpool LIVE: Isak’s strike completes Reds’ turnaround after Yarmolyuk’s RED CARD – updates

LIVERPOOL will be determined to get back to winning ways in the Premier League – but they face a tough test against Brentford this afternoon.

Ryan Gravenberch’s sending-off last weekend was the catalyst to Andoni Iraola’s men being on the wrong end of a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.

While Kristoffer Ajer’s late strike saw the Bees hold Aston Villa to a 2-2 draw.

SUB: Straight after a tame header from Lewis-Potter, Brentford make a switch as Mikkel Damsgaard replaces Anthony.

The corner from the right is taken short and eventually defended, with a patient Liverpool forced backwards.

Ngumoha fires a low shot across the area, forcing Hickey to turn it behind and concede a Liverpool corner.

Alisson comes off his line and quickly backtracks as Brentford fail to bundle it home inside a nervy Liverpool area!

Somehow they scramble it clear, but Thiago really needed to be sharper dealing with Anthony's pull-back.

SUB: Aaron Hickey replaces Van den Berg, bringing an end to his first start of the season.

What a record against the Bees!

Isak now has five goals in five Premier League matches against Brentford, and that is his first in Liverpool colours.

Barcola is yet to get on the scoresheet during a frantic match, but he does brilliantly to cushion a header down for Isak, who emphatically lashes it back across goal.

GOAL!

2-1!

ISAK PUTS LIVERPOOL IN FRONT!

What a turnaround against resolute ten-man Brentford.

The overload from the visitors is stifling, as a deep ball from the right is nodded down by Barcola.

Isak takes the ball down and pokes a swivelling left-footed effort into the bottom-right corner to net his fifth goal of the season!

Schade scrambles away Mac Allister's initial corner.

The subsequent set-piece is taken short from the right, resulting in only a partial clearance.

Sangare manages to emerge from a crowded space, but fails to pick out Thiago on the break.

Moments later, the Brazilian allows a cheap corner from the left.

Barcola goes close!

The number 29 drives at a bouncing ball on the edge of the Brentford area, but cannot guide his fizzing volley on target.

Liverpool sense blood as they press Brentford's struggling 10 men.

Munoz forces a corner down the right, and after a short restart, he manages a shot from inside the box.

Sadly, the attempt skips wide of the left post.

YELLOW CARD!

Janelt goes into the book for dissent following a scrappy foul on Jacquet, today's pantomime villain.

Wirtz registers an assist following a clever through ball.

Munoz takes care of the rest with a sharp cutback and finish, and it is a moment that will do wonders for the German international's confidence.

GOAL!

1-1!

LIVERPOOL ARE LEVEL!

Wirtz slides a pass down the right to Munoz, who performs a Ronaldo chop back onto his left.

The Spaniard then fires a low effort past Kellher from inside the area to bring his side level.

Sublime finish!

YELLOW CARD!

Schade goes into the book following a very tame push on Munoz near the touchline.

The booking comes right after a short corner ends with Ngumoha floating a cross in for Van Dijk to meet on the volley.

Kayode gets the supporters on their feet as he steps up for another long throw for the hosts.

The Italian lofts it in, but Van Dijk heads clear.

The loose ball falls to Anthony, who drills an effort wide of the right post.

Play quickly switches as the men in black press forward, forcing Kelleher to parry away a stinging strike from Mac Allister!

Anthony serves as the target down Brentford's right, but the scrappy phase of play drags on until the Hungary international fights well to win possession back.

Mac Allister pokes it left through a crowded Brentford penalty area.

A dummy lets the ball run, forcing Kerkez to sprint and keep it in play.

YELLOW CARD!

Mac Allister goes into the book.

He receives a caution for dissent towards referee Brooks after being denied a foul, and continues to argue after Barcola is felled near the far touchline.

Kayode lofts a long throw into the box that is cleared, but it falls straight to Anthony.

He strikes a volley from inside the area, but Alisson makes the save.
