Ajibade begins recovery after successful surgery

Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, has begun her recovery following successful surgery for a fractured fibula.

The forward sustained the injury during Nigeria’s second-leg encounter against Comoros in the second round of the 2028 Olympic Games qualifiers.

Ajibade was forced off in the 28th minute of the match at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne, with Folashade Ijamilusi coming on as her replacement.

The Paris Saint-Germain star underwent surgery last week and has now commenced the recovery process.

Although PSG are yet to announce a timeline for her return to action, the start of her recovery marks a positive step towards regaining full fitness.

Ajibade is expected to focus on her rehabilitation programme as she works towards a return to competitive football
