Grimsby Town defender Edon Pruti suffered a horrific leg break in his side's defeat by Northampton Town.

Pruti, 24, was sent off for a foul on Cobblers defender Joe Wormleighton in the 61st minute, but injured himself in the process.

After a lengthy stoppage, he was carried off the field with head coach David Artell confirming the bad news.

"By all intents and purposes, it's a double leg break, tibia and fibula," he told BBC Radio Humberside. "We wish him a speedy recovery and we sure he'll get back on the pitch."
