The Wrap: World Cup Women's Round 2
The Wrap: World Cup Women's Round 2

The Jillaroos have become the first team to book their place in the IRL Women's Rugby League World Cup semi-finals.

Australia ran in 15 tries to claim a comprehensive 78-0 victory over England and secure a top-two finish in Pool A.

Jocelyn Kelleher scored a double and kicked nine goals to finish on 26 points, with 11 different players finding the tryline at HBF Park in Perth.

The match did involve one sour note with Julia Robinson suffering an arm injury midway through the first half.

The Jillaroos will play their semi-final at Allianz Stadium on Sunday November 8 as part of a double-header with the Kangaroos.

New Zealand then followed it up on Sunday afternoon with a 92-0 triumph over France at a sold-out One NZ Stadium.

Fullback Apii Nicholls scored four tries, while Stacey Waaka and Mele Hufanga bagged hat-tricks.

The Kiwi Ferns are now almost certainly guaranteed a place in the semi-finals and can complete an unbeaten group phase with a win over Papua New Guinea next Saturday.

Samoa opened the second week of the World Cup with a 76-0 win over Wales on Friday night, winger Tyra Ekepati scoring a hat-trick on debut.

Halfback Pauline Piliae-Rasabale kicked 10 conversions to set a new national record for most goals in a game.

The victory sets up a Week 3 showdown with England at WIN Stadium for a place in the semi-finals.

Fiji also took a big step towards a spot in the final four with an impressive 40-4 triumph over Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby.

The Bulikula quickly silenced a raucous crowd with an early try and jumped out to a 30-4 half-time lead.

The second half was a hard-fought affair with the Orchids fighting desperately to hit back but Fiji's defence held firm.

The Bulikula will play France on the Gold Coast on Saturday afternoon, with a win likely enough to qualify for the semi-finals in their first Women's World Cup.
