A special 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S 680 designed in partnership with NBA legend LeBron James is heading to auction through Gooding Christie’s, with all proceeds benefiting the LeBron James Family Foundation’s I PROMISE program. The vehicle closely mirrors a model personally owned by the  basketball star and features bespoke touches crafted through the German manufacturer’s Manufaktur personalization program.

Light Ivory Exterior and Custom V12 Badges

The exterior of the luxury sedan is finished in a non-metallic Light Ivory paint shade exclusive to the Manufaktur department. Breaking from standard factory styling, Mercedes replaced the traditional V12 fender badges with LeBron James’ personal logo. The car rolls on matching Light Ivory wheels that complete the monochromatic exterior palette.

Stormy Weather Blue Interior and Akron Coordinates

Inside the cabin, most surfaces are trimmed in Stormy Weather blue Nappa leather, covering the seats, door panels, dashboard, and transmission tunnel. The vibrant blue upholstery features white contrast stitching, while LeBron James’ personal logo is embossed on the headrest cushions. A small console badge displays the geographic coordinates for Akron, Ohio, serving as a tribute to the athlete’s hometown.

Twin-Turbo V12 Performance and Foundation Impact

Under the hood, the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 carries a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 621 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. While a standard version of the sedan starts at $247,250 in the United States, this custom build is expected to command a higher price at the gavel. Gooding Christie’s will offer the vehicle during its Retromobile New York Auctions event, directing all funds raised to the I PROMISE program to support students and families in the Akron area. “The chance to design my own customized Mercedes-Maybach was something I never even dreamed of as a young kid growing up in Akron,” James said. “To now have the opportunity to uplift my community and the families we serve through this auction means everything to my Foundation as we continue to build an ecosystem of supports that allows them to live out their dreams as well.”
