Trabzonspor target BK Hacken midfielder Abdoulaye Doumbia

Trabzonspor are stepping up their pursuit of 19-year-old BK Hacken midfielder Abdoulaye Doumbia, with the Turkish club considering a bid of about 5 million euros for the Ivory Coast player during the January transfer window.

The club has monitored Doumbia since the summer and has recently increased contact with his representatives, according to Turkish publication Fanatik. Trabzonspor are now looking to turn their interest into a formal offer when the winter market opens.

Negotiations are expected to make significant progress in January. Should an agreement be reached, Doumbia would move to the Turkish league at an early stage of his career as Trabzonspor seek to strengthen their midfield.

Rising prospect at BK Hacken

Doumbia joined BK Hacken in January 2026 and has quickly gained experience in the Swedish top flight. He has made 23 Allsvenskan appearances this season, scoring two goals and providing three assists.

His performances have attracted attention beyond Sweden, with Trabzonspor particularly interested in his ability to contribute in both attack and defence. The 19-year-old is viewed as a mobile central midfielder who can add energy to the middle of the pitch and participate across different phases of play.

Trabzonspor’s recruitment strategy is focused on young players with the potential to improve while also strengthening the first team in the short term. Doumbia is regarded as a strong fit for that approach and could become part of the club’s plans for the future of its midfield.

His arrival would give Trabzonspor another developing option in the centre of the pitch, while allowing the club to invest in a player considered to have considerable room for growth.

Transfermarkt currently values Doumbia at 5 million euros, the same figure Trabzonspor are reportedly prepared to pay for his services.

January decision awaits

The coming weeks could determine whether Doumbia leaves BK Hacken this winter. Trabzonspor’s sustained interest, the increased discussions with his representatives and the proposed fee all point to a possible acceleration in the negotiations.

However, an agreement must still be reached between the Turkish club, BK Hacken and the player’s representatives before a transfer can be completed.

Trabzonspor will soon play their 10th league match of the season against Gaziantep. Beyond that fixture, attention will also be focused on whether the club can complete a deal for Doumbia and give the Ivory Coast midfielder a new challenge in Turkey.
