Lookman Eyes Bigger Impact After Sinking Manchester United

Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman believes he can raise his level further after coming off the bench to score the decisive goal against Manchester United.

Lookman said he was delighted to make an impact and help his team secure the win, stressing that he aims to contribute at both ends of the pitch.

“I’m really pleased. Coming on and being able to help the side is important. I try to bring energy and support the team defensively, while also doing something going forward when the opportunity comes,” Lookman said after the match.

Impact from the bench

  1. Lookman praised the work of his teammates before his introduction, saying their strong display allowed him to enter the contest smoothly.
  2. “The boys had already delivered a huge performance before I got on. That makes it easier to join the game and start playing. I’m very happy with the team’s performance,” he said.
  3. The winger described the result against Manchester United as a major victory for his side.
  4. He said the success should provide an important lift ahead of the team’s next match, which is scheduled for Saturday or Sunday.
  5. “We understand how significant this win is for us. It gives us confidence going into the next game, which is this weekend,” Lookman added.

Nigeria fixtures ahead

Lookman’s remarks come before Nigeria’s next international assignments against Tanzania. The Super Eagles are due to play the East African nation twice during the forthcoming international break.

After his match-winning contribution against Manchester United, Lookman said he feels his confidence is increasing. The forward believes his development is continuing and expects to produce even better performances in the future.
