He keeps reaching historic records. On 17 October, Raphinha moved into the number five position for most appearances by a Brazilian player for FC Barcelona, having featured 186 times in blaugrana. His latest achievement came after coming on in the second half of the 5-2 win against Betis in La Cartuja to play 20 minutes ahead of next week's heavyweight clashes with PSG in Paris and Real Madrid at Spotify Camp Nou.
In fact, he has drawn level with Neymar in fifth position on the all-time list for Brazilian appearance makers, his countryman having made his 186 appearances across four seasons from 2013/14 to 2016/17. Raphinha joined Barça for the 2022/23 season and has scored 89 goals so far, placing him in the top 30 of the all-time top scorers for FC Barcelona.
The blaugrana number 11 may have some other countrymen in his sights on this metric. His closest target is Adriano Correia, who made 190 appearances for the Club and surpassing him would see Raphinha move into fourth place. To climb further up the list, he would have to better the total of 207 appearances by Ronaldinho, 235 by Rivaldo and 408 by Dani Alves.
Prior to kick-off of the Barça v Getafe match, Raphinha received the award for LaLiga best player of the month for September. It's his second already this season, as he also won it in August. Let's not forget he already has 14 goals in the first eight games this month, truly out-of-this-world numbers.
