Tottenham player ratings vs Crystal Palace: Forgotten star back to his best as summer signing scores 9/10
Chelsea 0-2 Tottenham: Xabi Alonso and Roberto De Zerbi press conferences

Tottenham made it three wins in a row for the first time since February 2025 with a 2-0 win at home to 10-man Crystal Palace.

Archie Gray gave Spurs the lead in the 25th minute, heading home at the back post from a corner after Jean-Philippe Mateta was shown a 13th-minute red card for a studs-up challenge on Micky van de Ven.

From there, Spurs dominated and eventually doubled their lead in the 73rd minute when Jan Paul van Hecke headed in at the second time of asking after an excellent save from Dean Henderson.

Antonin Kinsky 7: Made a few comfortable saves, but once Palace were reduced to 10 men, he was mainly a bystander. Successive clean sheets for the Czech international.

Archie Gray 7: Becoming a reliable presence in both boxes. Opened the scoring with a back post header. Replaced at half time by Porro after picking up a booking.

Jan Paul van Hecke 9: The starting point for most of Spurs’ attacks. He spent most of the second half camped in the visitors’ final third in an effort to keep the pressure on. Scored the all-important second goal.

Micky van de Ven 7: His pace across the ground forced Mateta to stretch for a ball he was never going to get to. Misplaced just one of his 125 passes.

Andy Robertson 6: Moved infield to provide an option on the overlap. Had plenty of freedom to get forward, helping Mathys Tel double up down the left.

Sandro Tonali 8: Industrious performance. Got back well to win back possession and helped drive Spurs up the pitch with his trademark marauding runs. Growing in confidence with every game. Covered the most ground of any player for the second game running.

Mateus Fernandes 7: Not quite as influential as he was against Chelsea. Grew into the game after half-time, stopping Palace from breaking out with some crunching tackles and providing the inswinging cross for Van Hecke’s goal.

Mohammed Kudus 8: A threat throughout, the Ghanaian is looking back to his best. Provided the assist for Gray’s opener with a looping corner to the back post. Denied by the offside flag late on.

Omar Marmoush 5: Drifted through the game at times, but worked hard out of possession. Did not really suit playing as the No10 as Spurs struggled to create too many clear-cut chances while he was on the pitch.

Mathys Tel 7: Buoyed by his goal against Chelsea, the Frenchman was lively and confident. Gave Oscar Mingueza a tough time on his full Premier League debut.

Dominic Solanke 6: This was the sort of game where he would have been eager to add to his goal tally. Despite working hard, nothing came off for him, though. He made a good block to deny McNeil in the second-half.

Substitutes:

Pedro Porro 6: Spurs do not want to take unnecessary risks with the right-back after his hamstring injury. The game suited him as he was able to get forward and make things happen in the final third.

Conor Gallagher 6: Drew a good save from Henderson with a close-range effort. Added energy to Spurs’ performance to ensure they did not let Palace back into the game.

Dejan Kulusevski 7: More valuable minutes for the Swede, whose every touch was cheered. Nearly got on the scoresheet with a curling effort that was saved well by Henderson.

Destiny Udogie 6: First appearance since suffering a knee injury against Manchester United earlier this month.

Luca Williams-Barnett 7: Finally got his chance, and Spurs’ supporters responded with a rousing reception. They have waited a while to see the talented teenager again and he did not disappoint. A wonderful bit of trickery should have led to an assist for Kudus.

Unused: Dubravka, Senesi, Maddison, Davies
