Manchester United sits in 16th place in the Premier League standings after nine matches, with only seven points. Michael Carrick faces escalating pressure at Old Trafford following a home defeat that extended the club’s winless run across matches. Carrick berjuang mempertahankan jabatannya di United setelah kekalahan buruk 0-2 di kandang Chelsea.

Jamie Redknapp Narrows Managerial Shortlist to Two Candidates

As speculation mounts regarding the future of the managerial position, former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp told Sky Sports that Manchester United must narrow its search if the club decides to dismiss Carrick. Redknapp stated that only Unai Emery and Eddie Howe possess the qualifications required to handle the demands of the Old Trafford dugout. While acknowledging that Carrick remains in charge for now, Redknapp identified Aston Villa manager Emery as the standout candidate capable of fixing the team’s ongoing struggles, noting that every coach possesses the ego to believe they can rescue the club. Setiap pelatih punya ego, he continued.

Oliver Kahn Issues Warning Over Old Trafford Rebuilding Risks

Former Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn cautioned Julian Nagelsmann against taking the Manchester United job, pointing to a persistent lack of managerial continuity at the club. Speaking on the career risks involved, Kahn noted that nearly every manager appointed at Old Trafford in recent years has ultimately fallen short of expectations. Nagelsmann has also drawn interest from Juventus, where Italian sporting directors have reportedly established direct contact with the German coach as the Serie A club weighs alternative managerial targets. He noted that Nagelsmann has experience managing Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich, and the Germany national team. Kahn added.

Alan Shearer Questions Appeal of Manchester United Post

Former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer raised doubts regarding the attractiveness of the managerial vacancy at Old Trafford. Citing comments published by Sportskeeda, Shearer pointed out the frequency with which high-profile managers have been hired and subsequently dismissed by the club in recent seasons. He suggested that the primary allure of the position under current conditions is the substantial financial severance package typically paid out within the first 12 to 18 months of an unsuccessful tenure.

Following the European fixture, Carrick’s squad prepares to face Aston Villa—managed by Unai Emery—in a Premier League fixture scheduled exactly one week later at the same venue.
