Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has made a significant stride in his career, joining growing sports agency Lupus Sports in a move expected to facilitate a potential departure from Kaizer Chiefs in the near future.

Ngcobo’s decision to join the Belgian-based agency comes at a time in his career when he has fallen down the pecking order at Chiefs, seemingly finding himself outside the plans of coach Fernando Da Cruz. The agency, however, described him as a player who still has plenty to offer.

“Nkosingiphile Ngcobo is a technically gifted, left-footed midfielder known for his excellent ball control, quick decision-making, vision, and passing ability,” the agency wrote in an Instagram post.

“Born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, Mshini developed through the youth structures at Kaizer Chiefs before being promoted to the first team in 2017. Since then, he has gained valuable experience competing at the senior level.”

Having made his senior debut for Chiefs in a 1-0 win over Maritzburg United (now known as Durban City) in March 2019, Mshini was widely expected to grow into a crucial figure in the team’s midfield, thanks to his deft left foot.

However, injuries, a loss of form, and fitness struggles have hindered his progress. Consequently, despite making over 100 appearances for Amakhosi, he has yet to reach his full potential seven years after making his breakthrough into the senior side.

Ngcobo’s contract at Chiefs is set to expire at the end of the season. However, his decision to align with Lupus Sports could see him pursue a fresh start as early as the upcoming January transfer window.

While Lupus Sports is based in Belgium, they manage a strong portfolio of South African players both locally and abroad. Their roster includes Kamogelo Sebelebele (Orlando Pirates), Samukelo Kabini (Molde FK, Norway), Bathusi Aubaas (Mamelodi Sundowns), and Aden McCarthy (Sabah FK, Azerbaijan).
