Chipolopolo attacker Kings Kangwa is celebrating after inspiring his Greek club Panathinaikos to a UEFA Conference League victory on Thursday evening.
Kangwa scored as Panathinaikos edged Borac Banja Luka 2-1 at home on Match Day One in Athens.
The Zambian midfielder doubled Panathinaikos’ lead midway through the second half after Dessers converted an early penalty.
The former Buildcon player was voted Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
“A big win in the UEFA Conference League,” Kangwa reacted after the match.
“Happy to get on the scoresheet and help the team secure the 3 points! We keep pushing,” he said.
The 27-year-old joined Panathinaikos last July from Israeli side Hapoel Be’er Sheva, where he made 84 appearances, scored 29 goals and provided 20 assists during his two-year stay.
He was named Israeli Premier League Player of the Season in May 2025 after helping Hapoel Be’er Sheva to league victory in the 2024/25 season.
At international level, Kangwa has represented Zambia since 2019, earning 43 caps and scoring 7 goals.
