Brazil’s Andreyna warns Nigeria’s Flamingos of fine margins in U-17 World Cup semi-final

Brazil defender Andreyna says her team will need to deliver a disciplined performance to beat Nigeria’s Flamingos and reach the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The sides meet on Wednesday night at Mohammed VI Football Complex, Pitch 3, in Rabat, with a place in the final at stake.

Brazil are aiming to win the tournament for the first time, but face a Nigeria team determined to secure a historic place in the final.

Rilany Silva’s side remain unbeaten in Morocco after showing resilience in victories over China PR and Poland. Andreyna, however, expects the Flamingos to provide their toughest test yet.

The centre-back told FIFA that the semi-final would be decided by which team maintains its composure and carries out its plans most effectively.

“I expect a very tough match,” Andreyna said.

“Not just because it’s against Nigeria, but because it’s a World Cup semi-final. The team that makes the fewest mistakes and executes their game plan the best will win this one.

“I believe our success so far stems from our collective effort – especially our mental strength, which has grown throughout the tournament. Day in and day out, we’ve shown a drive to overcome every challenge that comes our way.”

Brazil’s progress has been built on collective resilience, according to Andreyna, who believes the team’s mentality has improved throughout the competition.

The winner of the semi-final will advance to the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, while the losing side will see its tournament end in the last four.
