England captain and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has been crowned the winner of the 2026 Men’s Ballon d’Or, securing football’s most prestigious individual award at Monday’s ceremony in London.
Kane earned the recognition after an exceptional 2025/2026 season, during which his prolific goalscoring displays for Bayern Munich strengthened his position among the world’s leading footballers.
The ceremony, held at the London Palladium, brought together prominent figures from across the football world to honour outstanding achievements in both the men’s and women’s game.
With this triumph, Kane joins an exclusive group of English footballers to have won the men’s Ballon d’Or, following in the footsteps of Stanley Matthews, Bobby Charlton, Kevin Keegan and Michael Owen, who claimed the award in 2001.
The Bayern Munich forward also achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first player to win the Ballon d’Or and the Gerd Müller Trophy in the same year.
