Real Madrid are preparing for possible changes to their squad in January, with Endrick Felipe’s future set to be a major consideration for Jose Mourinho.
The 20-year-old has had limited playing time so far this season after being affected by injury. Several Premier League and Serie A clubs are reportedly considering making an offer to take him on loan when the transfer window opens.
Endrick Felipe added to the speculation surrounding his future after scoring as a substitute in Real Madrid’s 4-3 UEFA Champions League victory away to AS Roma. The former Palmeiras forward said he would accept whichever decision is made about his next move.
“I take it day by day. If I have to leave in January, I'll leave; if I have to stay, I'll stay. I will do whatever God puts in my heart. I'm very grateful to Mourinho,” he said.
Mourinho has been one of the first managers to speak openly with Endrick Felipe, and the player said he had developed a strong level of trust in him.
“He is one of the first coaches who has genuinely spoken to me. I trust him with open arms. While I'm here, my job isn't to play for the manager to win, but for Real Madrid,” he added.
Should Mourinho decide to keep Endrick Felipe at Real Madrid for the rest of the 2026/27 season, another player could instead leave on loan to create room in the squad.
Brahim Diaz has played only 178 minutes this season and could become the focus of a temporary move if Endrick Felipe remains in Madrid. The Spain international is being considered for a short-term switch to Italy.
Real Madrid’s plans therefore depend partly on Mourinho’s decision over Endrick Felipe. A move for the Brazil forward would allow him to seek regular first-team football elsewhere, while his retention could lead to Diaz being sent out on loan instead.
For now, Endrick Felipe has not ruled out either possibility, saying he will continue to follow the decision made about his future. His comments came after his latest contribution from the bench, while clubs in both England and Italy are understood to be monitoring his situation ahead of January.
