PSG will face a stern test of their European ambitions when they host Barcelona in a high-profile UEFA Champions League encounter today.

The reigning champions head into the encounter after securing an impressive 4-2 victory over Premier League leaders Manchester City, a result that underlined their ability to compete against Europe’s elite.

PSG, managed by Luis Enrique, have recovered from a slow start to the campaign, winning their last six matches across competitions. Their latest victory was a 3-1 triumph over Strasbourg on Saturday.

However, Barcelona pose a different challenge, with the Spanish giants enjoying an outstanding start to the season under manager Hansi Flick. The Catalan side have recorded 11 consecutive victories, scoring 48 goals in the process, highlighting their attacking strength and consistency.

Barcelona’s impressive run has been driven by the brilliance of young forward Lamine Yamal, who is among the favourites for the Ballon d’Or. The return of Brazilian winger Raphinha is also expected to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the crucial fixture.

Despite PSG’s recent dominance in Europe, having won the last two Champions League titles, Barcelona will arrive in Paris determined to establish themselves among the leading contenders for the trophy.

The encounter is expected to provide a significant test of both sides’ credentials, with PSG seeking to maintain their winning momentum and Barcelona looking to extend their remarkable run of victories. With attacking quality on both sides, Tuesday’s meeting could prove decisive in shaping the early narrative of the Champions League campaign.
