The interest in Tottenham striker Richarlison is already building, even though we are two and a half months away from the start of the January transfer window.

Spurs fans would have hoped for a more cordial end to Richarlison’s time at North London than what has transpired over recent months.

After falling out with the club in the summer and rejecting multiple offers to leave, the striker has been left out of the club’s Premier League squad.

It now looks certain that the 29-year-old has already played his final game for the Lilywhites, with reports indicating that Tottenham have agreed to sell the striker for a cut-price fee in the winter.

Galatasaray and Trabzonspor have opened talks with Tottenham over Richarlison

According to ESPN Brazil, two Turkish clubs have already begun groundwork over a January deal for the striker, who finished as Spurs’ top scorer last season.

The report says Galatasaray and Trabzonspor are the ones showing ‘the most interest’ in signing Richarlison ahead of the upcoming window.

In fact, both clubs have already held talks behind the scenes regarding a mid-season deal for the striker. It is revealed that Trabzonspor also negotiated with Spurs over the 29-year-old in the summer, but a deal did not progress.

The outlet adds that Tottenham wanted around €20m-€25m (£16.8m-£21m) for Richarlison in the summer, but they are ready to accept just €10m (£8.4m).

Spurs and Richarlison have settled on a compromise after summer standoff

Things got very heated between the player and the club in the summer, with Richarlison’s camp even threatening legal action against Spurs in a bid to void his contract at North London.

It was reported by Brazilian journalist Bruno Andrade earlier this month that Tottenham have the means to make this a painful battle for the striker by activating the one-year extension option in his contract.

However, Andrade revealed that Spurs have informed Richarlison that they will not activate the contract extension, with the two sides having reached a compromise and agreeing to go their separate ways this winter.
